Why Coaching Doesn't Stick
Part 3
Here’s the line I’m drawing for practitioners.
➡️ If you’re not designing for behavior, accountability, and system alignment, you’re not practicing transformational coaching — you’re hoping for it.
Hope is not unethical, but it is unreliable.
The next era of this profession will belong to practitioners who:
Work from principles, not toolkits
Translate dialogue into clear commitments
Account for culture, incentives, and power
Measure impact without flattening complexity
This isn’t about doing more, it’s about practicing differently.
Some will find this unnecessary.
Others will feel called out.
A few will recognize it as the work they’ve been circling for years.
Those are my people.

This is well done, Ed. Maybe we can find time to trade ideas.

This concise, pointed post identifies some core elements or principles that are necessary for individuals and organizations to generate transformational change or a paradigm shift. This work is not for the faint of heart. It takes real courage to face who we are as individuals and organizations, and to create new futures for ourselves and others to live into. The endeavor, however, is well worth the effort. There is no better coach than Dr. Gurowitz to discover this new terrain.
